Know Your Group (KYG) is a lightweight web platform that sits in front of a WhatsApp or Telegram group. Instead of sharing a raw invite link, an admin creates a branded landing page that describes the community, sets expectations, and routes newcomers through an onboarding form before they reach the actual chat. That form doubles as a screening step, letting owners collect basic information and filter out bots or spam accounts.

Beyond the front door, KYG layers on light community tooling: analytics on membership and engagement, some group-health signals, and a public discovery directory where prospective members can find spaces to join. The pitch targets creators, influencers, and small businesses who run their audience on messaging apps but want a more professional, shareable presence and some control over who gets in.

In practice, KYG is an early, free beta that does one thing well — turning a chaotic group link into a polished, screenable landing page — rather than a full community operating system. Its analytics and management features are still shallow compared with established players like Nas.io, and because it mostly wraps a group rather than operating inside it, the payoff hinges on how much you value public presentation and member vetting. It's a sensible, low-risk add-on for the right use case, but not yet a deep platform.
