EverTutor is a voice-first AI tutoring platform that runs in a Zoom-like web interface, letting a learner talk through a subject with an AI tutor that explains concepts aloud, adapts difficulty on the fly, and gives instant feedback. The consumer product, EverTutor Live, is offered free, with the company absorbing compute costs, and it earned Product Hunt's Product of the Day in April 2025. Under the hood it stitches together ElevenLabs voice synthesis, Deepgram speech recognition, and Anthropic's Claude for reasoning, and it is led by founder Karttikeya Mangalam alongside a small research-and-education team.\n\nThe product started narrow, centered on GRE test prep with interactive explanations, mock tests, and vocabulary drills, and a paid plan in the roughly $20/month range. More recently it has been repositioning toward K-12 mathematics and school-district use, adding an MTSS intervention angle, FERPA and COPPA compliance, a Canva-style lesson builder called EverTutor Studio, support for 50+ languages, and integrations with Zearn, Illustrative Mathematics, and Desmos.\n\nThe core appeal is real: natural, low-latency spoken tutoring that feels like a 1:1 session rather than a text chatbot, at a price that undercuts human tutors dramatically. The caveats are equally real. Subject depth outside GRE and math is still thin, the brand is visibly split between a free consumer tool and an enterprise school sale, and the optional webcam-based emotion recognition will give some users pause. It reads as a promising early-stage product worth trying free, rather than a settled category leader.
